Martin Ojeda's Two-Goal Night Sends Orlando City Past the Union in MLS Statement Win

Orlando City made a statement on the road Wednesday night, with midfielder Martin Ojeda scoring twice to lead the Lions past Philadelphia Union in a dominant performance. The brace from Ojeda was the difference maker in what turned out to be a convincing victory for the Florida side.

Ojeda Takes Over the Midfield

Ojeda was the story of the night, finding the back of the net twice to pace Orlando's attack. His two goals proved to be all the Lions needed to secure the win against a Union team that couldn't find an answer for the visiting offense. The performance from Ojeda underscores Orlando's attacking depth and ability to strike on the road in MLS play.

Another Strong Result in a Packed Wednesday

The victory was one of several standout results across MLS on Wednesday evening. Elsewhere, the Sounders continued their home form with another strong showing at Lumen Field, downing the Earthquakes on their own turf. Meanwhile, Sebastian Berhalter's brace lifted Vancouver past FC Dallas, and the Rapids blanked Minnesota for their first win in a month, showing that firepower was on display across the league Wednesday night.

What's Next

Orlando will look to build on this road victory as the regular season progresses. The Lions proved they can travel and get results against Eastern Conference opposition, which bodes well for their push through the remainder of the season. Ojeda's performance gives the team confidence heading forward that they have the talent to compete with anyone in MLS.
