Miami, Minnesota, and Toronto Just Demolished Round 1: Three CDL Sweeps and Nobody Saw It Coming
The Call of Duty League Stage 3 Minor is underway, and three teams just sent a message to everyone else: they came to win. The Miami Heretics, G2 Minnesota, and Toronto KOI all posted perfect Round 1 sweeps on Friday to punch their tickets straight to the quarterfinals. Not even close either. These weren't nail biters. These were dominant performances.
Miami and Minnesota Showed Up Ready
The Heretics absolutely dismantled the Boston Breach in straight sets. We're talking Colossus Hardpoint 250-199, then Raid Search and Destroy 6-0 (yeah, a shutout), and capped it off with Exposure Overload 4-3. That's the kind of balanced attack that wins tournaments.

Toronto Came From Behind, Riyadh Bounced Back
Toronto's sweep over Carolina was the tightest of the bunch. The KOI opened with a 250-249 knife fight on Scar Hardpoint, then rolled with a 6-4 victory on Raid Search and Destroy before sealing it 4-1 on Scar Overload. That first map came down to possession and discipline.
Riyadh Falcons had to claw back. Vancouver grabbed the match-opening win 250-246 on Den Hardpoint, but the Falcons stormed back with three straight: 6-2 on Plaza Search and Destroy, 4-3 on Scar Overload, and 250-174 on Sake Hardpoint to advance.
The Tournament Hits Quarterfinals Tomorrow
All 12 CDL teams are in this thing, fighting for $20,000 and 30 CDL points to the champion. Single elimination, best-of-five matches, everything seeded based on Major 2 standings. Saturday's quarterfinals set up some serious matchups: OpTic Texas takes on Toronto KOI, Los Angeles Thieves face G2 Minnesota, FaZe Vegas meets Riyadh Falcons, and Paris Gentle Mates battle Miami Heretics. The sweeps were just the warm-up.
