Naylor Goes Nuclear, Kirby Dominates Deep Into Game as Mariners Sweep Astros in Blowout

The Mariners just swept the Astros four games in a row, and it was not even close. Josh Naylor homered twice, Kirby pitched into the eighth inning, and Seattle cruised to a 6-2 victory on April 13. This is the kind of statement win that makes you sit back and smile as a fan.

Naylor's Two-Bomb Show

Josh Naylor was the story of the game. Two home runs. That is the kind of performance that shifts momentum in a series and reminds you why depth in the lineup matters. He carried the offense when it mattered, and Houston had no answer for it.

Kirby Dealing on the Mound

Spokane native Kirby was absolutely locked in, pitching into the eighth inning. When your starter is throwing that deep into a game and keeping the opponent off the board, your bullpen gets a breather and your team stays in control. That is championship-caliber pitching early in the season.

Four Games, Four Wins

A four-game sweep is not something you see every day. The Mariners came into Houston and took care of business, winning 6-2 and leaving no doubt. This is the kind of series that shows what this team is capable of when the bats are clicking and the pitching is sharp.

Next up: the Mariners will look to carry this momentum forward. When you are rolling like this in April, you take it and run with it. This sweep is exactly the kind of start that playoff teams are built on.
