Knicks Just Beat the 76ers Twice and Nobody in Philly Has an Answer

The Knicks are two wins away from the Eastern Conference Finals, and they did it by leaning on the guy who matters most when the game is on the line. The second-seeded New York Knicks took a 2-0 series lead over the seventh-seed Philadelphia 76ers in their conference semifinal matchup, and Game 3 is heading back to Philadelphia on Friday night.

Brunson Did What Brunson Does

Game 2 wasn't pretty. The Knicks didn't play their cleanest basketball, but Jalen Brunson made sure it didn't matter. When the score was tied at 99, Brunson hit two crucial buckets down the stretch that gave New York an edge they never gave back. The final score was 108-102, and that's all that counts when you're trying to go up 2-0.

The 76ers tried to get the ball away from Brunson late, and coach Nick Nurse found some schemes that worked momentarily, but the Knicks stayed fresh and stayed in control. Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby kept playing efficient basketball, and even when Paul George and Tyrese Maxey created some surges, New York kept Philadelphia off-balance when it mattered most.

The Real Story: Knicks Built Different

Game 1 was a statement. The Knicks demolished the 76ers 137-98, showing everyone what a fully locked-in New York team looks like. Game 2 proved they don't need to play perfect basketball to win in the playoffs. That's the kind of depth and resilience that advances teams.

The Knicks head to Philadelphia on Friday for Game 3 knowing they can control this series. One more win gets them to the conference finals. The question now is whether the 76ers can steal one at home or if New York closes this out sooner.
