Ohtani's Dominant Debut Sends Dodgers Past Guardians in Early Season Showcase
Shohei Ohtani looked every bit the star the Dodgers paid for in his first pitching appearance of 2026, and Los Angeles is rolling early. Ohtani allowed just one hit and struck out six over six scoreless innings against Cleveland, putting the Dodgers in control as they moved to 3-1 on the season. The Guardians fell to 3-2 after the loss.
Ohtani Makes His Mark Right Away
This is what Dodgers fans have been waiting for. Ohtani's 2026 debut on the mound was as clean as it gets: one hit, six strikeouts, and zeros across the board. Six innings of work with zero runs allowed is the kind of statement performance that tells you everything you need to know about where his head is at this early in the season. The Guardians' offense simply couldn't generate anything off him.
