One Start in Five Games Landed Chris Glaser a Cowboys Deal, And The NFL's Grind Is Already Real

Alright, 12s, even though our hearts bleed green and blue for the Hawks, we gotta keep an eye on the league landscape, right? Because the battle for every single roster spot is already in full swing, and a dude just landed a shot with the Cowboys that shows you exactly how much grit it takes. We're talking about offensive lineman Chris Glaser, who's officially headed to Dallas after a serious tour of duty in the football world. This ain't some big-name free agent, but trust me, his journey is a testament to the relentless fight these guys have, and it sets a tone for every single team out there as the early season picture starts to emerge.

From UFL Battlegrounds to Big D Opportunity

This isn't a story about a first-round pick walking right into a starting role, nope. This is about a player who's been grinding for years for an NFL shot. Chris Glaser, a name you might not have circled on your draft board, is getting his chance with the Cowboys. Tom Pelissero over at NFL Media reported it, and honestly, you gotta respect the hustle. Glaser spent the 2026 UFL season with the Columbus Aviators, proving his worth in a league that's becoming a legit pipeline for talent. Think about it, man, putting in work there, then getting the call from an NFL squad? That's the kind of determination that separates the pros from the rest.

The Path Less Traveled: From Undrafted to Dallas

Glaser’s journey to Dallas isn't exactly a smooth highway, more like a winding mountain road. He first hit the NFL scene back in 2022 as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs. Didn't stick there, but he kept fighting. His first taste of actual regular season action came in 2023 with the Jets, where he managed to play five games and even snagged one start. One single start, folks, and that's enough to keep the dream alive! Then, he made three appearances for the Bears in 2024. That’s a lot of different locker rooms, a lot of different playbooks to learn, all for a few snaps here and there. Now, with this signing, he’s got a fresh opportunity to earn a permanent spot with the Cowboys, to add to that total this fall. Every single snap matters for guys like Glaser, every single practice rep, because that's how you carve out a career in this brutal league.

So, while we're all fired up about our Hawks and what Mike Macdonald's building here in the Emerald City, keeping an eye on stories like Chris Glaser’s is a reminder of the sheer competitive fire that burns across the entire NFL. Every team, including our rivals, is out there trying to find those diamonds in the rough, those grinders who can fill a crucial role. This early season period is all about finding those pieces, shaping those rosters. For Glaser, it’s all on the line to prove he belongs in Dallas. For us? It's another reason to get hyped for what's ahead in the season, watching how these rosters shake out across the league. You know we'll be here, watching every single play, every single week!
