Our M's Put the Athletics in a Four-Game Home Hole, And The West Just Got Louder

HOLY COW, 12s, did you SEE that?! Our Seattle Mariners rolled into West Sacramento and absolutely dominated the Athletics for the SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW, taking another dominant 9-2 win tonight! That’s right, back-to-back 9-2 thrashings of the AL West leaders. Emerson Hancock was dealing, bats were alive, and this felt like a massive statement!

Hancock's Gem and A's Continued Skid

Emerson Hancock, what a performance! He came in with a solid 3-2 record, stellar 3.07 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts. He was locked in, carving up the A's lineup. Luis Severino, at 2-5 with a 4.23 ERA, couldn't match our ace's intensity. This 9-2 victory isn't just another win. It bumps our M's to 27-29 overall and 13-14 on the road. The A's now slide to 27-28 overall and a shaky 10-14 at home. The season series was tied 2-2 before tonight. With this win, we've pulled ahead, now leading the series 3-2. This is how you gain ground early!

The A's were desperate to stop their three-game home slide, but after tonight's beatdown, they’ve now dropped FOUR straight at home. Ouch. They're struggling with a 4-6 record over their last 10, a paltry .224 average, and their pitchers rocking a 4.45 ERA. Our M's also went 4-6 over the last 10, but our pitching was tighter with a 3.68 ERA. We're fantastic when we unleash the long ball, boasting a 13-4 record in games where we hit at least two home runs! Even with their struggles, A's slugger Shea Langeliers is mashing with 13 homers, and Nick Kurtz was hot over the last 10 games. For our M's, one power hitter led with 11 homers, and another was raking, going 10 for 34 over his last 10 with two dingers and nine RBI. Our guys are stepping up!

Our M's are back at it tomorrow, May 27, against these same A's for Game 3 of this series. We just took two dominant 9-2 wins, and now we have to keep that momentum rolling. The A's are clearly wounded, sitting barely ahead of us in the AL West, but we are chipping away, 12s! Every win is massive as we build early season form. We need to keep pushing, Emerald City, especially with key guys like Cal Raleigh sidelined on the 10-day IL with a side issue, and other critical players also out. Our depth is showing, but we need everyone healthy and firing! Let's go, M's! Keep that energy, keep that fire!
