Poehling's Controversial OT Strike Puts Oilers on the Brink, Ducks One Win Away

The Anaheim Ducks are three wins from the second round after Poehling buried a controversial overtime winner in Game 4, pushing the Edmonton Oilers to the edge of elimination in the Western Conference first round. The goal sparked debate, but the result is clear: Anaheim is in control and Edmonton is running out of time.

The Messy OT That Changed Everything

Poehling's shot found its way across the goal line in overtime, and just like that, the Ducks had their third straight win. It was a tense, contested goal, but the officials let it stand. For Edmonton, it was another knife wound in a series that's slipping away fast. The Oilers have now dropped consecutive games and are staring down a 3-1 series deficit with their backs completely against the wall.

Ducks Building Momentum When It Matters Most

Three straight wins in the playoffs is the kind of run that builds belief. Anaheim came to play in Game 4 and found the net when it counted most. Granlund had tied it earlier on the power play, five-hole, keeping the Ducks alive before Poehling's heroics sealed it in OT. This is playoff hockey at its finest for Anaheim: resilient, clutch, and hungry.

Edmonton Faces Elimination Game Next

The Oilers cannot afford to lose Game 5. Period. Being down 3-1 in a playoff series is a graveyard, and Edmonton knows it. They've got to go back home, regroup, and find a way to force a Game 6. If they don't, their season is over. The pressure is entirely on Edmonton now, and Anaheim is playing the kind of hockey that makes it hard to see a way back.
