Randy Arozarena & The Seattle Mariners Avoid Arbitration, Signs $11.3M Deal.

The Seattle Mariners and Randy Arozarena have settled at $11,300,000 and avoided arbitration. This includes a day of deals with Logan Gilbert at $7.625M and Cal Raleigh at $5.6M.

After the Mariners traded for Arozarena, you knew they would likely get something done this offseason and settle, rather than signing him to a long term deal right now. He has one more year of arbitration before he comes an unrestricted free agent in 2027.

This marks Arozarena's third of four salary arbitration years. The veteran outfielder posted an underwhelming .219/.332/.388 batting line during the 2024 season but did register his fourth straight 20-20 campaign. He'll be the Mariners' left fielder and hit in the middle of their lineup in 2025.

It will be interesting to see what happens following this season he if continues to struggle playing in Seattle (like many batters do). Batting .219 after making this a 'splash' move is not going to cut it. Hopefully we get to see the Arozarena we saw in Tampa Bay this season with the Mariners.

Even in a down year, Arozarena hit 20 home runs and stole 20 bases, achieving his fourth straight 20/20 season. He also ranked among the top five qualified AL batters with an 11.3% walk rate. On top of that, he reached 600 plate appearances for the fourth year in a row. Since his debut in 2019, his only two stints on the injured list have been due to COVID-19 protocols.

Stay healthy, get hot a couple times a year, and you might see the Mariners try to land him on a long term deal.
