Reilly Smith's Hat Trick Night Ends Seattle's Season: Knights Rally Past Kraken to Clinch Pacific
The Kraken's season is over. Vegas just put it away with a three-goal third period explosion, and there's nothing left but the offseason to figure out what went wrong.
Reilly Smith did the damage on Wednesday night in Las Vegas, scoring twice and adding an assist during that devastating third period rally that carried the Golden Knights to a 4-1 victory. It was the 31st multi-goal game of Smith's career, and it came at exactly the moment Seattle needed to find a way to stop him. They couldn't. Vegas clinched the Pacific Division title, and the Kraken packed it in for the year.

The script looked different through 40 minutes. Seattle had the lead heading into the third period, but that's where everything unraveled. Vegas came out and showed why they earned the top spot in this division, burying three goals in one period to flip the game completely. Smith's two tallies during that stretch, plus his helper, put the Knights in complete control and sent the Kraken home frustrated.
What's Next for Seattle
There's no next for the Kraken this season. This was it. A loss that ended everything, and now the focus shifts to what the front office does in the offseason to make sure a night like this doesn't define the next one.
