The NBA’s investigation into Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers just got a whole lot more interesting, and the potential punishments on the table are brutal.
For Leonard, the league could go as far as voiding his contract entirely and prohibiting him from re-signing with the Clippers. He could also be forced to return money he received from Aspiration, plus face a fine of up to $350,000.

That’s just the player side. The Clippers organization is staring down the barrel of a $7.5 million fine, potential forfeiture of draft picks, and even suspensions for team personnel. Owner Steve Ballmer or other execs could get hit with up to a one-year suspension and $1 million fines each.
If the NBA follows through with even half of this, it would go down as one of the most significant punishment cases in league history. For now, it’s a waiting game in Los Angeles.
