Report: Seattle Seahawks Place Uchenna Nwosu On IR...

Uchenna Nwosu missed the Seattle Seahawks first four games of the season, and unfortunately made it back for only 20 snaps in week five before getting hurt again. It's been a rough two years of Nwosu....

Nwosu, 27, was previously out with a knee injury suffered during the preseason, came back and played 20 snaps is is out again. It’s the second year in a row of injury challenges for Nwosu, who missed much of 2023 with a pectoral injury.

Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, Seattle is expected to place Nwosu on injured reserve after he suffered a thigh injury in the loss to the Giants.

In 2022, Nwosu recorded a career-high 9.5 sacks with 12 tackles for loss and 26 quarterback hits — all career highs. He was a big piece for the Seahawks defense after they brought him in form the Chargers.

Seattle and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $59 million, which includes $32 million guaranteed and a base value of $45 million after the great 2022 season he had.

After signing the contract, Nwosu was only able to play SIX games in 2023, before his season-ending injury, and this year he has played only 20 snaps and is out again on the IR. Thankfully, this injury is not considered season-ending.
