Rockets Close Out the Regular Season Against Memphis, and the Playoff Picture Is About to Get Real

The Houston Rockets are heading into their final regular season matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies on April 12, and this is the kind of game that matters when you're hunting for playoff positioning. The Rockets just snapped an eight game win streak with a loss to the Timberwolves, 136-132, so they're coming in hungry to end the regular season on the right note.

The Streak Ends, But the Season Doesn't

Houston was rolling. They won seven straight before dropping that one to Minnesota, then took down the 76ers 113-102 just before that. They also beat the Suns 119-105 earlier in the week. That's a team with serious momentum heading into the postseason, even if they stumbled against the Timberwolves. The Rockets converted JD Davison to a standard NBA contract, so they're making moves to lock in their roster down the stretch.

Memphis Is the Final Test

The Grizzlies are the last obstacle between Houston and the playoffs. This is close to make-or-break territory. The Rockets have to finish strong, and Aaron Holiday is going to need to be steady as Houston heads into the NBA Playoffs. Every possession matters now, and the pressure is on.

This is the kind of April game that people remember when the season ends. The Lakers, Nuggets, and the rest of the playoff field are watching how the final spots shake out, and the Rockets are still in the conversation. One more win, and they close out the regular season the right way.
