Royals' Maikel Garcia Just Walked Off the Mariners in the 10th and Seattle Has to Be Furious

The Mariners are heading home from Kansas City without the sweep they needed. Maikel Garcia's sacrifice fly in the 10th inning gave the Royals a walk-off win, and just like that, Seattle's road trip turned into a nightmare scenario.

The Gut-Punch Ending

This wasn't a blowout. This wasn't a team that looked completely outmatched. The Mariners had a real chance to take control of this series and instead got caught in extras, where one swing ended everything. Garcia's sac fly in the 10th was the difference, and now the Royals get to go home with momentum while Seattle has to shake off a loss that probably stings more than a typical defeat.

Losing in 10 innings on the road? That's the kind of game that can haunt you early in the season when every win matters. The Mariners had their shot to sweep, and they couldn't close it out.

What's Next for Seattle

The Mariners need to regroup fast. This was a chance to build real early-season confidence, and instead they're leaving Kansas City with questions. The good news: there's plenty of baseball left to play. The bad news: letting road sweeps slip away in 10 innings isn't the way to start building a winning team.

Get back to T-Mobile Park, lock in, and get right. That's the only answer now.
