Seahawks Select Guard Grey Zabel With 18th Overall Pick

The Seattle Seahawks did what everyone wanted them do, go get some offensive line help. The Seahawks selected former North Dakota state offensive lineman Grey Zabel with the 18th pick in the NFL Draft. He was one of the media, and fan favorites to end up in Seattle, and our wishes came true.

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider was thrilled after making the pick.

"We landed our No. 1 interior offensive linemen in Grey Zabel," Schneider told reporters mere moments after the selection. "He's the highest interior player we've picked since [Hall of Famer] Hutch [Steve Hutchinson]. Everybody loves this guy [Zabel]. He's just buttoned up. Tough, smart, reliable, our kind of guy."

Former NFL QB Robert Griffin III, who also works in the media, had some great things to say about the pick:

"The Seattle Seahawks just got a high character, versatile offensive lineman who is beyond talented at every position on the line in Grey Zabel. He has 38 career starts between LT, RT, LG, RG, and Center. Just turn on his tape and tell me you don’t love watching him seek and destroy."

The Athletic gave the Seahawks an A+:

"For a team like Seattle, which has been trying to fix the interior of its offensive line for a half-decade now, this feels like an elite pick. Zabel (who helped run his family farm in college and will continue to do so during NFL offseasons) is one of the draft's hardest workers. He's a high-floor player who fills multiple needs for the Seahawks - an awesome pick here and a great fit."

This is exciting to see, everyone seems on board with the fit. The Seahawks got the right guy, and we can't wait to watch.
