There was no reason the Seattle Seahawks should've lost their home opener to the San Fransisco 49ers today... The defense and special teams were BOTH locking down the 49ers for the majority of the game, but there were two major issues that blew this game for Seattle.
The Seahawks fell short 17-13 today but had the ball inside the 20-yard line with just a minute to go, but once again, the offense fell short.
Before I get into blaming a specific player on the defense, it is say to safe that the defense should have never been in that position to begin with. The offense simply never showed up, they let down the Seahawks all day, including the final drive where QB Sam Darnold fumbled in the red zone, leading to the Seahawks loss.
Darnold was NOT good in his Seahawks debut regardless of the last drive, ending with only 150 yards and no touchdowns, plus the final fumble to end the game.
The 49ers had a missed field goal and a BLOCKED goal after multiple stops by the defense. The defense and special teams kept the Seahawks in the game, simple as that, but the Seahawks offense couldn't help.
Pretty simple the Seahawks loss was on just a couple things.

Now, of course, we have to mention Tariq Woolen, who got greedy on two different plays in the final 49ers drive that ultimately led to the touchdown. There is no reason he shouldn't be able to get a stop on either play, but he was going for an interception rather than playing for the stop.
Still, at the end of the day, the offense never helped and never showed up right. So I am going to place MOST of the blame on the offense...
