Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba Set for ‘Coming-Out Party’

Everyone, especially the Seattle Seahawks, expected Jaxon Smith-Njigba to be a great NFL wide receiver. The Seattle Seahawks took the Ohio State WR in the 1st round and he was the first WR to be drafted in 2023. It didn't start as great as everyone planned. Seems that people forgot the Seahawks were brining him in as WR3 behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

In his first four games of the season, Smith-Njigba had just 12 receptions for 62 yards and didn't find the endzone. It wasn't panic stations as it does take some players time to adjust to the rigors of the NFL - even first-round selections.

But over the last three weeks, the former Ohio State Buckeye has totaled 11 receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. He’s heating up.

One former NFL CB, Jason McCourty, says it's time for the JSN 'coming-out party':

“He started the season, he had a wrist injury, going through some things,” McCourty said on Good Morning Football. “Now, the last two weeks he has scored a touchdown, this past one was the game-winner late in the game, Geno Smith finds him. I feel like for him and this offense, obviously they have Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, but adding him as the third guy, Geno Smith’s starting to build trust with him.

"Feel like he’s going to have a coming-out party where we see 100-yard game, maybe multiple touchdown game. I think it’s just the tip of the iceberg for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.”
