Zach Charbonnet just lost $45,000 to the NFL due to a fine, and let us tell you, this was an insane result from the league offices.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NFL levied a $45,000 fine against Charbonnet for unnecessary roughness/illegal use of the helmet in a 42-29 loss to the Detroit Lions. The second-year back was not penalized for the block on Monday night.
This is normal sometimes, a play in the NFL that does not get called on the field, but a player gets fined after the game... This one is ridiculous though, it was a clean block, a great block.
The NFL fined Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet $45,020 for unnecessary roughness.

For this block….. pic.twitter.com/Trh6G0jY0R
Players are allowed to appeal fines, but it remains to be seen whether or not Charbonnet will take that course of action.
Based on the fact he wasn't flagged on the play and film doesn't show a blatant illegal block as described in the by-rules, it may be his best course of action, as several of these fines have been rescinded in the past following further review.
Still can't believe Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet got fined $45,000 for this block....

Let me tell you, if it was me, I would appeal this, this is not fair for him to pay.
