Seattle Seahawks waive Jerrick Reed II After Two Seasons

The Seattle Seahawks are waiving third-year special teamer Jerrick Reed II after two season with Seattle. Reed was an All-Rookie special teamer in 2023. He was part of the Pete Carroll era and draft picks, but it looks like Mike Macdonald is ready to move on.

Unfortunately, a knee injury ended his 2023 season early, and he ended up missing a couple months in 2024, so he has not been as valuable as he was as an early rookie in 2023.

Reed has not had much opportunity to play since his injuries, he never plays safety, and he's just here for special teams. I believe there is a chance that he signs with Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders and gets a shot. That is just a prediction but the Raiders are becoming the Seattle Raiders with all the former-Seahawks that Pete Carroll is bringing in.

Despite not playing much other than special teams, Jerrick Reed did have one moment in his Seahawks career that was truly a great video and meme moving forward. After beating the Lions in Detroit, he decided to take out the blue ski mask (just like all the Lions fans were wearing) and rock it running out of the stadium and in the locker room.

This will always be a pretty moment and something to remember during Reed's time in Seattle.
