Sounders Take Down Dallas in a Statement Win at Home

The Seattle Sounders FC got the job done at home on April 25, picking up a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas in a match that featured some notable individual performances and career milestones.

Historic Night for Abubakar, Fresh Starts for Dallas

It was a big day for FC Dallas defender Lalas Abubakar, who reached a career milestone by playing in his 200th MLS regular season game. That kind of longevity and consistency is exactly what you build a defense around. On the flip side, Dallas brought three players into their first starts of 2026, trying to shake things up. Nick Simmonds got his first career MLS start in this one, and Nolan Norris found the back of the net for his first career goal with the club. That's the kind of performance you want to see from young guys stepping into bigger roles, even if the final result didn't go their way.

Sounders Secure the Points at Home

The 2-1 final tells you everything you need to know about this match. Seattle came out of Climate Pledge Arena with three points, which is exactly what you want when you're playing at home. In MLS, getting wins at your own ground is how you build momentum early in the season, and the Sounders did just that against a Dallas side trying to find its footing.

This victory puts Seattle in a strong position as the season continues. Whether you're looking at the early table standings or just the vibes around T-Mobile Park, wins like this are the foundation you build on.
