SOURCES: Seahawks unlikely to trade Tariq Woolen, part of longterm plans.

The trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and a lot of people within the Seattle Seahawks fanbase were sharing rumors that the Seahawks will trade CB Tariq Woolen. Woolen was a big piece of the defense, as he had a great rookie year, but has slightly dipped in production since.

It looks like the Seahawks might disagree about the opinions of the fans, because sources not only say that they he will not be traded, but he will be staying longterm. Woolen is a free agent this coming offseason, but it sounds like the Seahawks will try to keep him around.

However, for those who are hoping Seattle might move Woolen ahead of the trade deadline, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo the Hawks are “more likely than not” to hold on to Woolen rather than deal him heading into the deadline.

Garofolo also noted that the Seahawks would like to keep Woolen around, and the team has not given up hope that Woolen will remain a part of the long-term plans.

Fan frustration grew loud after he misplayed a pass against San Francisco 49ers tight end Jake Tonges in Week 1. That score ended up being the difference in a 17-13 Seahawks loss. Woolen also had some untimely penalties in Seattle’s 23-20 Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

It's always interesting to see when a team has a much different opinion than the fans, and with Tariq Woolen it seems to be that case. Woolen is likely to stay.
