Storm's Three Rookies Are About to Step Into the Real Thing

Training camp is one thing. But Saturday night at Chase Center? That's when it gets real for Seattle's new draft class.

The Storm's trio of drafted rookies are gearing up for their first taste of WNBA action in the preseason opener against Golden State at 5:30 p.m. They've been grinding through the week in training camp, but stepping onto that court in a real game is a completely different animal. This is the moment where the dream stops being theoretical and starts being actual basketball.

Flau'jae Johnson Ready to Show Out

Flau'jae Johnson, the No. 8 overall pick in the WNBA draft, arrived at Storm headquarters on April 16 with plenty of buzz already surrounding her. Now she's about to prove she belongs at this level. Johnson and the other two drafted rookies have spent the week training with the team, learning the system, and preparing for this exact moment.

Preseason Opener Against the Warriors

The matchup against Golden State isn't some sleepy exhibition game either. The Warriors bring legitimate competition, and that's exactly what these rookies need right now. Playing against real WNBA talent will show them where they stand, what adjustments they need to make, and whether they're truly ready for the grind of a professional season.

For Storm fans, this is your first real look at what the team's future looks like. Three new faces, fresh energy, and the chance to see if Seattle's draft class can contribute right away. Chase Center on Saturday night is where the next chapter begins. Be ready.
