The Octagon Is Hitting the White House Lawn and Pereira Is About to Make UFC History

Yo, Seattle fam! Get ready for something absolutely wild this Sunday because the UFC is about to pull off one of the most insane events ever. We're talking the Octagon, the South Lawn of the White House, and title fights that are going to blow your mind. UFC Freedom 250 is going down in Washington, D.C., and you know we can't miss a second of it, especially with Pereira trying to cement his legend! This isn't just a unique venue, it's packed with big names ready to throw down.

Gaethje and Topuria Ready for War

First up, let's talk about the main event, because Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje are about to settle some serious differences, and the undisputed lightweight title is on the line. Gaethje, the absolute warrior, snagged the interim title back in January with a thrilling win over Paddy Pimblett. Dude's been on a tear! But Topuria, who's been out of action for a year dealing with personal stuff at home, is back, and both of these guys have ramped up the trash talk during fight week. You can feel the tension, they're ready to get in there and unleash hell. It's going to be an absolute explosion in that Octagon.

Pereira's Unstoppable Rise to Immortality

But seriously, can we talk about the co-main event? Pereira, this dude is a certified action star, beloved by fans after just 12 fights over five years. Think about that for a second! He's already conquered both middleweight and light heavyweight, and now he's looking to make history by taking a piece of the heavyweight title. If he pulls this off, he'll be the first fighter ever to win titles across three divisions. That's insane! Standing in his way is Gane, who has repeatedly come up short in these big spots. Gane holds a 10-2, 1 NC record in the UFC since joining in 2019, even earning an interim title by TKOing Derrick Lewis in 2021. But then he lost a decision to Francis Ngannou trying to unify, and Jon Jones quickly submitted him for the vacant title in 2023. Gane did look strong against Tom Aspinall in 2025, but that fight ended in a no contest after a brutal double eye poke. Pereira is on a different level, though, and this is his moment to write history. This is not just another fight card, folks. This is a moment. You can catch all the insanity starting at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+. Get that subscription ready, because for as low as $8.99 a month, you're getting access to all the numbered UFC events and Fight Nights. Don't miss Pereira making history or Gaethje and Topuria tearing it up. This Sunday, history is going down, and we're front row!
