The Seahawks Just Won the Super Bowl and Now They've Got a Weird Draft Problem

Here's something you don't see every year in Seattle: the Seahawks are holding the 32nd and final pick of the first round at the upcoming NFL draft. And you know why? Because they just won the Super Bowl. Yeah, that's right. Being the defending champs comes with a major draft slot penalty, and now General Manager John Schneider and the brain trust have to figure out how to make the most of it.

What Do You Do With Pick 32 When You've Already Won It All?

This isn't your typical draft situation. The Seahawks aren't sitting around hoping to land a franchise-changing talent at 32. Most teams fighting for playoff spots would kill to be in Seattle's position right now, but the math is brutal: as the Super Bowl winners, you get bumped all the way to the end of the first round. That's the price of success, and it's a unique problem that not many organizations get to deal with.

Looking Ahead for the Emerald City

With Sam Darnold under center and a loaded receiving room featuring Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp, the Seahawks have serious offensive weapons. Head Coach Mike Macdonald and Offensive Coordinator Brian Fleury have the pieces they want in place. The real question becomes: what's the priority at 32? Can they find depth that actually moves the needle, or do they use this pick as a springboard to package it in a trade?

The draft is coming, and it's going to be unlike anything the Seahawks have experienced in recent memory. Make sure you're locked in when it goes down. This is going to be must-watch football for anyone who bleeds green and blue.
