The Washington Huskies are coming off one of the best seasons in the history of a program that has been rich in history. A berth to the National Championship game and a perfect run in the PAC-12 had Montlake buzzing all of last season. But things quickly turned south after the season as head coach Kalen DeBoer bolted to the University of Alabama. And the team lost most of their starting players to graduation or the NFL. The Huskies quickly turned their attention to finding a new head coach and were able to bring in a rising star in Jedd Fisch from the University of Arizona. And with Fisch comes big NFL connections and there have been two coaching legends at the University of Washington who have been very connected to the program all off-season. And that's former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Could that be the secret to success for the Huskies this season? Well, it was discussed on the Pat McAfee show.
Who knows how much of a impact these two coaching legends will have for the Huskies this season but it is a reason to be optimistic. It's not everyday you have two of the best coaches in history of their respective sport coming together to help mentor a new coach and help put their stamp on the program.
