The Washington Huskies began their season with a 35-3 victory against the Weber State Wildcats at Husky Stadium, ushering in a new era of Husky football. The Husky faithful at Montlake were welcoming in new head coach Jedd Fisch, new quarterback Will Rogers, and a ton of new arrivals to Washington.
There were many bright spots for the Huskies, but none brighter than Arizona transfer and new RB Jonah Coleman who debuted with 16 carries for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns. And in doing so, became the first Washington Husky to achieve a 100 yards rushing in his debut game since 1960.𝟏-𝟎 🙌 #AllAboutTheW pic.twitter.com/FMMr2b8I1x

There were other bright spots on the field as well. New QB Will Rogers, looked solid in his debut, going for 20/26 with 250 yards and a touchdown. The Huskies defense also shut out the Wildcats from the end zone. Overall, it was a solid performance for the Huskies.
Now, this shouldn't have been and wasn't a big test for the Dawgs. Despite a slow starting first quarter, the team seemed to keep rhythm and ended up taking care of business, getting a comfortable win and covering the spread (-28.5). Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a bright era for the Huskies
