Cowboys and Giants Open 2026 Season on Sunday Night Football, Full Schedule Drops Thursday

The NFL just locked in one of the biggest Week 1 matchups for 2026: the Cowboys are heading to the Meadowlands to face the Giants on Sunday Night Football. That's the kind of primetime slot that sets the tone for the entire season, and both teams know what's at stake right out of the gate.

When You'll See the Full Picture

Here's the thing though: we're only getting half the story right now. The Giants' complete 2026 schedule hits on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET on the Giants' website, app, and social media channels. So while we know Dallas is coming to town in Week 1, the rest of the road ahead is still a mystery. That's when the real planning begins for John Harbaugh and the team.

Giants Building Something New

The Giants have been busy this offseason. They just signed DJ Reader to the defensive line and claimed DL Zacch Pickens off waivers, bolstering a unit that needs depth. The rookie class is getting fitted and ready, with first-round picks getting their jersey numbers assigned. Seven undrafted rookie free agents also inked deals, and four of their draft picks have already signed rookie contracts. It's the kind of roster construction that tells you the organization is thinking long term, even as they prep for that Week 1 showdown.

What's Coming This Week

The rest of the 2026 schedule reveal on Thursday night is going to be packed with information. Fans and analysts will finally see the full slate of Giants opponents and can start mapping out what looks like a winnable stretch versus a brutal gauntlet. Until then, all we know for sure is that Dallas is coming first, and it's going to be on prime time.
