Adam Bauserman's Suspended License, And Why Kyle Vasey Is Fighting For His Life

Man, sometimes life hits you with a gut punch you never see coming. This isn't about a missed field goal or a blown call, it's about something far, far worse. We got news that former Penn State long snapper Kyle Vasey was seriously injured, and his fiancée, Corinne More, was tragically killed in a horrific hit-and-run incident in Colorado earlier this month. Seriously, this is absolutely heartbreaking. His whole life, turned upside down in a second, and it's a tough pill to swallow for anyone who values human life.

The Unthinkable Details of a Colorado Nightmare

According to a CBS News report and details from a GoFundMe set up by Kyle’s parents, Bruce and Shelly Vasey, Kyle and Corinne were out on a walk. Imagine, a simple walk, and then a pickup truck comes, negligently drives off the road, and runs them down. The report stated the truck was going approximately 45 mph. The driver, Adam Bauserman, then had the audacity to turn around, check out the damage he caused, and then cowardly fled the scene. It’s absolutely enraging. Corinne More was killed, and Kyle Vasey suffered multiple injuries, including multiple fractures all over his body, and serious damage to his ribs and spine. He’s already had six surgeries to date, which just tells you the severity of what he's going through. And if that wasn't enough, an unrelated woman, Dianne Windes, was also injured in this same accident.

A Cowardly Act With Devastating Consequences

Here’s where it gets even more infuriating, if that’s even possible. Adam Bauserman, the guy behind the wheel, was later taken into custody by the police. But get this: he had no business being on the road in the first place! The dude was driving with a suspended license after a DUI. Seriously? This wasn't an accident; this was a tragedy compounded by negligence and a complete disregard for the law. Because of his actions, Bauserman is now facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury. Kyle Vasey played for Penn State from 2014 through 2018, starting his last two seasons and even winning the John Bruno Memorial Award in 2018 for being an outstanding special teams member. This is a guy who committed to his team, who contributed, and now his world is shattered by someone else's reckless choices.

It's an absolute gut punch to hear about this. While we're usually here to talk about the Mariners crushing it or the Seahawks bringing the heat, sometimes real-life tragedies hit harder than any sports loss. Kyle Vasey has a long road to recovery ahead, both physically and emotionally, as the legal process for Adam Bauserman unfolds. Our hearts go out to Kyle and Corinne's family. We can only hope justice is served and Kyle finds strength through this unimaginable time.
