Alright, Emerald City! You thought it was all about the Mariners or the Hawks? Nah, fam, this time we're talking about the raw, unfiltered passion of Washington high school sports! The 2026 WIAA 1B Softball State Championship is officially kicking off, and trust me, you gotta see what's happening. The brackets just dropped, the first games are set, and some of these teams are coming in hotter than a summer day on Lake Union!

Top Seeds Are Just Built Different

Talk about DOMINANCE, you guys. The bracket for the 1B State Championship is here, and your top seed, Liberty Christian, is coming in like a freight train. Seriously, an 8-0 league record and a STUNNING 18-2 overall? That's not just good, that's "Are you kidding me?" good. They've been a force all season, and they're looking to make a serious run. But hold up, don't sleep on Colton. These guys are an undefeated 9-0 in league play, sporting a 15-1 overall record. That's another squad making a statement and looking to shake things up. And it's not just those two! Sunnyside Christian is sitting at 5-3 in league, 12-5 overall, showing they're no slouch. Almira-Coulee-Hartline? Undefeated in league play at 6-0 and 12-5 overall. These are the teams that have been grinding all year, and now it's time to see who truly has that championship grit.

Single Elimination Means Every Pitch Matters

This whole thing is a single-elimination slugfest, kicking off May 21st at 3 PM, with the championship game set for May 23rd at 3:30 PM. No second chances, pure intensity. You lose, you go home. That's the kind of high-stakes drama we live for in Washington sports! The first-round matchups are already looking spicy. We've got Colton squaring off against Muckleshoot Tribal. Naselle is taking on Quilcene. Wilbur-Creston goes against Wahkiakum, and Dayton is challenging Ocosta. Every one of those is a "leave it all on the field" situation, with teams battling to move on and keep their championship dreams alive. This isn't just high school ball, this is championship-level grit and passion, folks. Every single team is fighting for that title, for that moment of glory. So yeah, mark your calendars for the championship game on May 23rd at 3:30 PM. Who's gonna lift that trophy? This is where legends are born, Seattle. Don't miss a single pitch!
