Nick Emmanwori's Wembanyama Claim: Your Seahawks Are Coming For Everything

Alright, 12s, you gotta hear this. Our very own DB, Nick Emmanwori, just dropped a comparison so audacious, so wild, it's got the entire Emerald City buzzing! He's out here likening himself to Victor Wembanyama! Yeah, *that* Wembanyama. Talk about setting the bar high! That kind of self-belief isn't just talk, it's a whole mood for our team as we gear up for what's ahead. It tells me everything about the kind of fire Mike Macdonald is bringing to Lumen Field this year.

The Run D Revolution Is Officially ON

And speaking of that fire, it's crystal clear what the front office and coaching staff have been cooking up in the offseason: run defense, baby! It's been the absolute priority in all their moves. We saw Dante Fowler Jr. come in, and the word is the Seahawks really liked what he does well in run defense. It’s not just about getting bigger bodies, either. We're talking about an "atypical run defense strategy" that's now the new goalpost for 2026. This isn't your grandma's D-line, folks. Our DC Durde and Assistant GM Teasley even hit up the NFL accelerator program, which tells you they're looking for every edge, every innovation to get this defense locked down. When Emmanwori talks like he does, and the team's building this kind of wall up front, you know we mean business. The NFC West better take notice, especially since the Cardinals have virtually no chance to go from worst to first.

Offensive Weapons and Rookie Hype

But it's not all about stopping the run! On the offensive side, there's some serious buzz, and a little bit of fan frustration, too. Can you believe our guy Jaxon Smith-Njigba received the *wrong* award from the NFL? Seriously? Give the man his due! Still, the talent is undeniable. We've got Grey Zabel, our IOL, already named to the all-breakout 2026 team. That’s a huge boost for Sam Darnold and keeping him clean. Plus, Emmanuel Henderson Jr. is bringing some serious extra speed to the Seahawks offense, adding another dynamic playmaker to the mix alongside JSN, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp. Fox Sports even ranked Darnold's supporting cast at No. 10. Not bad, but we always want more, right? And get this: our rookie RB, Jadarian Price, who threw out the first pitch at a Mariners game on Sunday, is already predicted to lead *all* rookies in scrimmage TDs! Talk about hitting the ground running! It’s also awesome to see CBS Sports regrade our 2023 NFL Draft with an A+, showing we've got a knack for finding these future stars. With bold statements from guys like Emmanwori, a renewed focus on shutting down the run, and some serious offensive firepower and rookie hype, this 2026 Seahawks season is shaping up to be something special. We've got our 2026 schedule released, with plenty of big games and even an easiest 3-game stretch to look forward to. And yeah, we're likely to host our first joint practice in 2026, which is gonna be epic! We could even face rookie QB Carson Beck from the Cardinals in Week 2, a chance to set the tone early against a division rival who is already facing trade buzz that could make them weaker. It's time to get hyped, 12s, because this team is ready to deliver.
