Forget about easing into the tournament, our boys decided to drop an absolute masterclass right out of the gate. They kicked off their Memorial Cup run yesterday, Saturday, May 23, 2026, and walked away with a huge 5-3 win over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. You gotta love seeing the Puget Sound's own showing up and reminding everyone what they're all about!

The Silvertips Just Showed Up Ready To Roll

Seriously, what a start! Playing on the road as the visitors in Kelowna, BC, at Prospera Place, the Silvertips didn't blink. They put five goals on the board against Chicoutimi's three. That's how you come into a championship tournament, right? It wasn't just a win, it was a declaration. Everett bagged their first win of the Memorial Cup, a crucial step to get momentum rolling. On the flip side, Chicoutimi took their first regulation loss. You know that first game can set the tone for the entire tournament, and our guys just laid down a serious marker.
