Trey'Dez Green Is Already Drawing First-Round Buzz and LSU's 2026 Class Just Got Scarier
Lane Kiffin's LSU rebuild is loaded before the season even starts. The Tigers are stacked with five-star talent that signals this team is ready to compete now, not someday. And the centerpiece of it all? Trey'Dez Green, a 6-7 tight end who went from promising 2024 recruit to one of the SEC's most dangerous weapons in 2025, and scouts are already talking about him as a first-round pick for 2027.
That's not hype. That's the trajectory Kiffin has built in Baton Rouge.

Green signed as a five-star in 2024 and emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous tight ends in 2025. Now he's primed for an All-SEC year and all that first-round buzz heading into next spring. But he's far from alone on this roster.
Jordan Ross transferred in from Tennessee and brings serious pass-rush ability to the defensive line. Jordan Seaton boosts the offensive line as a left tackle who already looks like a future top NFL pick. Lamar Brown leads the defensive line as the top recruit at his position. DJ Pickett is developing into a key cornerback after his freshman season. Quarterback Husan Longstreet arrived from USC with major arm talent. Running back Harlem Berry brings explosive playmaking from New Orleans.
This isn't a class built for the future. This is a roster designed to win immediately.
GameDay Comes to Baton Rouge Week 1
The national spotlight arrives before kickoff. ESPN College GameDay is headed to Baton Rouge for Week 1 when LSU takes on Clemson at Tiger Stadium, setting the tone for Kiffin's debut as head coach under maximum pressure. Both programs finished 7-6 last season after preseason top-10 hype, so this matchup carries serious reset expectations for 2026.
But here's the real story: LSU faces Clemson in a rematch of last year's 17-10 Tigers victory, and early-season showcases could keep this team in the national spotlight all through September. Week 3 brings the Ole Miss game, meaning Kiffin gets to face his former program with a completely reloaded arsenal.
The 2026 season starts now. Get ready.
