Three Teams Ready to Pounce on Jaden Schwartz If He Hits Free Agency This Summer

Jaden Schwartz is about to become one of the biggest names on the unrestricted free agent market, and if he decides to test the waters instead of re-signing with the Seattle Kraken, don't be surprised when multiple teams come calling hard. We're talking real interest here. So let's talk about which franchises might be positioning themselves to land him when July rolls around.

New Jersey Devils Make Sense as a Logical Fit

The Devils need secondary offensive production badly, and Schwartz could slot right into their lineup at the perfect moment. We're talking a guy who could compete for a spot anywhere in the top nine, maybe even push for the top six. Beyond the raw talent, he'd give New Jersey another skilled forward they can deploy on the power play. That kind of versatility is exactly what general managers chase in the offseason.

Los Angeles Kings Looking for Veteran Leadership and Depth

The Kings are another squad that should be circling Schwartz's name. They need a solid middle-six forward, and that's basically his sweet spot. But here's the bigger picture for LA: Anze Kopitar is retiring after this season, so they're losing a captain and a leader. Schwartz brings that veteran presence with good leadership skills. That matters more than people think when you're reshaping your core.

Detroit Red Wings Want Depth Down the Stretch

The Red Wings struggled to generate enough depth offensive production this season, and it showed. They need to upgrade their top nine if they're going to finally break their playoff drought next year. Schwartz filling that gap wouldn't be a shock at all. He's the kind of veteran forward who could make a real difference in a lineup that's hungry to get back to contention.

The question now becomes whether Schwartz stays in Seattle or tests the market. Either way, the Kraken will have some decisions to make. Keep your eyes on the offseason moves.
