Utah Just Walked Out of Climate Pledge Arena With a 6-2 Win, and the Kraken Need to Answer Fast

The Utah Mammoth came to Seattle and left with a decisive 6-2 victory over the Kraken on April 2, 2026, and that's the kind of result that stings in early April. The Emerald City got outshot, outplayed, and frankly, made to look bad on home ice. This wasn't close. This wasn't a one-goal heartbreaker. This was a full-team performance that the Kraken have to flush and forget fast.

What Went Wrong Tonight

Six goals against at home is not acceptable, no matter the opponent or the stage of the season. The Kraken defense, anchored by Adam Larsson, Vince Dunn, and Brandon Montour, couldn't keep Utah's offense contained. Joey Daccord faced a barrage in net, and when your goaltender is getting lit up like that, it means the whole lineup in front of him broke down. Utah came with purpose and Seattle didn't match it. That's a coaching point, a player accountability point, and a momentum killer all wrapped into one.

Time to Reset and Respond

The Kraken roster has the talent to bounce back from this one. Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann, Chandler Stephenson, Berkly Catton, Kaapo Kakko, and Tye Kartye all need to look in the mirror and remember why they compete at this level. One ugly loss doesn't define a season, but two in a row? That's a trend. One game at a time, that's the mantra, but this one needs to be a spark for what comes next.

The Kraken have another chance coming up. The 12s are still there, the building is still theirs, and the season is still in front of them. Time to show up different.
