Victor Wembanyama in Concussion Protocol After Fall, Spurs Down 14 in Game 2 Against Blazers

Victor Wembanyama's postseason just took a brutal turn. The Spurs' franchise player is now in concussion protocol after a fall during Game 2 against Portland, and San Antonio couldn't hold it together without him. The Trail Blazers stormed back from 14 points down to steal a 106-103 victory and take control of the series.

Portland's Comeback While San Antonio Struggled

This is what happens when your best two-way player goes out: the other team capitalizes. With Wembanyama sidelined, the Blazers leaned hard on Scoot Henderson, who delivered a playoff career-high 31 points to engineer Portland's stunning turnaround. The kid ran the offense like a vet and made play after play when it mattered most. San Antonio had it within reach but couldn't finish the job, dropping Game 2 and putting themselves in serious trouble heading back to Portland.

The Health Question Looming for San Antonio

Wembanyama was straight up dominant in Game 1, but now he's in the NBA's concussion protocol after that fall. That means he's day-to-day at best heading into Game 3. For the Spurs, losing their best player is a nightmare scenario in the middle of a playoff series. The Blazers proved they can beat San Antonio when Wembanyama isn't on the floor. If this drags on, the Spurs are looking at a potential trip back home facing elimination.

The NBA playoffs wait for nobody, and right now, San Antonio is running out of time to figure out what's next with their star player's status.
