Bills Sign Ex-Chiefs Pass Rusher Mike Danna to One-Year Deal, Bolster Edge Depth

Buffalo just made a low-key move that could pay dividends down the line. The Bills signed outside linebacker Mike Danna to a one-year contract, bringing in a familiar face from their AFC West battles to shore up their pass-rush rotation.

Danna Brings Veteran Experience to Buffalo's Defense

Danna comes to Buffalo after his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, so he knows what it takes to compete at the highest level in the AFC. The Bills are betting that a one-year deal with the veteran edge rusher can give them depth and flexibility along their defensive line as they gear up for the season. It's the kind of move that doesn't make headlines on draft day, but it could matter come September.

Addressing Pass-Rush Depth

Getting to the quarterback is non-negotiable in today's NFL, and Buffalo clearly believes Danna can contribute to that mission. By signing him to a short-term deal, the Bills maintain flexibility while adding another proven option to rotate in and give their starters a breather. Whether Danna becomes a regular contributor or a valuable reserve, he gives Buffalo options they didn't have before.

The move is straightforward: Buffalo needed to add depth at outside linebacker, and Danna checks that box. He's played meaningful snaps in the league and understands what winning looks like. The one-year structure keeps things low-risk for the Bills while giving Danna a chance to prove he still has gas in the tank.
