Brittany Mahomes Just Won a Major Award and Kansas City Is Taking Notice
Brittany Mahomes keeps stacking accolades like her husband stacks touchdowns. After getting inducted into the University of Texas at Tyler Athletics Hall of Fame back in March for her record-setting college soccer career, she just landed another huge honor that has nothing to do with being married to an NFL superstar.
During United WE's 35th anniversary celebration at CPKC Stadium, Mahomes received the inaugural "Champion for Change" award. The recognition came specifically for her work with the Kansas City Current, the National Women's Soccer League team she co-owns with Patrick Mahomes. The award recognized her as "one of the most impactful women figures in the city right now."

This isn't some participation trophy situation. The Current won the National Women's Soccer League Shield last season, which means the ownership and front office are actually moving the needle. Mahomes took to Instagram to celebrate the moment, posting about the "inspiring morning with United WE celebrating progress and influencing action."
"It was such an honor to receive the inaugural Champion for Change award in the stadium that represents what it looks like when women's needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace," she wrote. "No better place to celebrate women than a stadium built for women!"
The Mahomes Household Impact
Look, Brittany might not get the same spotlight as Patrick, but she's clearly making waves in Kansas City. Between the Hall of Fame induction recognizing her college soccer legacy and now this award for her impact on women's sports through ownership and leadership, she's building a resume that stands on its own. The message here is clear: she's not just riding the coattails. She's creating real change in how women's sports are supported and valued.
