Climate Pledge Arena Was Absolutely Packed and the Storm Showed Out for Their Home Opener
The Seattle Storm faithful showed up in force Friday night. We're talking 14,200 strong filling Climate Pledge Arena to kick off the WNBA season at home. That's the kind of energy this team thrives on, and the fans made their presence felt right from the opening tip.
A New Era Tipoff
The Storm are rolling out fresh faces and a new coaching staff as the WNBA season officially tips off across the league. This is a team in transition, introducing a reimagined roster to the Emerald City faithful. The vibe inside the arena was electric, with fans ready to buy into whatever this next chapter looks like.

One of the storylines that had people buzzing was the return of former Storm player Gabby Williams. Having her back in a Seattle uniform is the kind of nostalgia moment that gets the crowd on its feet, and the home crowd made sure to let her know she was missed.
Storm Fall Short in Opener
Despite the electric atmosphere, the Storm couldn't pull out the W at home. Golden State came in and took the game 91-80, leaving Seattle fans wanting more. It's early in the season, but when you're playing in front of that kind of crowd support, you want to give them a win to celebrate.
The Storm have plenty of basketball left to play. Next up, they'll look to bounce back and get a W in front of the Seattle fans who packed the house on opening night.
