Cristian Roldan's USMNT Nod and a Floating Mini-Pitch on Elliott Bay: Seattle, Get Ready for Chaos

Alright, Emerald City, listen up! That buzz in the air? It’s not just pre-summer energy. We just got HUGE news, and our beloved city is about to become the absolute epicenter of soccer mania for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Our very own Cristian Roldan is officially headed to the United States Men’s National Team, repping the Red, White, and Blue on the biggest stage. And Sounders FC and Reign FC? They’re throwing the most insane, first-of-its-kind waterfront party right on Elliott Bay with free public programming. You are not ready for this summer!

Roldan's Road to Glory and 400 Matches!

Can we even handle this? Cristian Roldan, who came to us as the #16 draft pick from the University of Washington, has officially earned his return to soccer’s biggest stage. He's been named to the United States Men’s National Team Roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026, and frankly, we could not be prouder! This dude has bled Rave Green, playing 400 matches for the Sounders. That’s a feat only one other Sounder has ever accomplished! That kind of dedication? That’s what gets you to the biggest stage in the world, baby! You want a piece of that history? Grab the Cristian Bobble Ticket Bundle for our August 19 match against Austin. It’s a no-brainer!

Your Summer Headquarters: Waterfront Soccer Celebration!

But wait, there’s more! This summer, Seattle takes center stage not just with Roldan, but with the Seattle Soccer Celebration powered by Lenovo. Sounders FC and Reign FC are turning Waterfront Park at Pier 62 into a full-blown World Cup party zone. This isn't just a few big screens, folks. We're talking a floating mini pitch on Elliott Bay, massive waterfront watch parties, live music, and incredible food and culture from across our city. It’s free public programming for everyone, and it’s going to be absolutely wild. Want an even more premium experience? Secure a World Cup Bundle with group seating and private suites, featuring both a World Cup match and a Sounders FC match. You won't find anything like it anywhere else!

Rave Green's Rollercoaster May: Wild Goals and Tough Losses

While we look ahead to World Cup glory, our Sounders have been grinding through May, giving us some serious drama. We saw a tough 1-0 road loss to LAFC on May 24, the final match before the World Cup break. Kim Kee-hee started at center back and Paul Rothrock was on the left wing in that one. But before that, we had some fireworks! Remember May 13 against the San Jose Earthquakes? Osaze De Rosario tallied the game-winner with one minute to spare! And the May 9 game against San Diego FC? We saw Danny Musovski sweep home a late equalizer, Jesús Ferreira dribbled the entire field before tallying Seattle’s second goal, and Albert Rusnák leveled the score with a penalty goal from the spot. These guys always keep us on the edge of our seats!

So, yeah, the World Cup break is here for a bit, but the excitement is just revving up for our city. We’ve got Cristian Roldan going to the biggest tournament on Earth, and a full-blown soccer festival hitting our waterfront this summer. Plus, don't forget that August 19 match against Austin to celebrate our hero. Get ready, Seattle, because this summer, the Emerald City is going to bleed green and blue like never before. You know we’ll be watching every single moment!
