Dallas Jumps Out 2-0 at Halftime and Real Salt Lake Can't Find the Comeback

Real Salt Lake walked out of Frisco, Texas on Saturday night with another loss in the books, and the drought is starting to feel real. The team dropped a 3-1 decision to FC Dallas, extending their rough stretch to three losses in the last four matches. That 2-0 halftime deficit proved too much to overcome, even though Diego Luna found the back of the net in the 85th minute to at least get one goal on the board.

The Numbers Tell the Story

Both teams are sitting at 19 points, but Dallas gets the edge in the standings. Real Salt Lake is now 6-4-1 and in sixth place in the West, while FC Dallas sits at 5-3-4 and seventh. Not a huge gap, but when you're losing three out of your last four, those points start to feel farther away than they actually are. Luna's goal in the 85th minute was a bright spot in a frustrating night, but one goal isn't enough when you're chasing a 2-0 deficit at the start of the second half.

Luna Keeps Shining Despite the Loss

Diego Luna continues to be Real Salt Lake's most dangerous player. The U.S. World Cup hopeful got on the scoreboard Saturday night and showed why he's been one of the standout performers in MLS this season. Even in defeat, Luna's name is the one people remember from the match.

Real Salt Lake needs to find their form fast. Three losses in four games is the kind of skid that can derail your entire season if you're not careful. The next time out is critical.
