Five Minutes to Build a Championship: ESPN's New Draft Simulator Lets You Play GM Right Now

Want to know what it feels like to make the calls that actually matter? ESPN just dropped something that'll eat up your next hour: a brand new NBA draft simulator that puts you in the GM chair for all 60 picks across both rounds. This isn't just mock draft theater. This is actually interactive.

How It Works: Real Data, Real Decisions

ESPN Analytics built this thing using expert mock drafts and their top 100 rankings to give you live odds on every prospect at every pick. You're not just simulating picks in a vacuum. You're making actual trades, adjusting on the fly, and watching the percentages shift as the draft unfolds. The simulator goes live throughout the entire draft and updates minute by minute with the real chances each player gets selected at each slot.

It's the kind of tool that makes you realize how hard the actual job is. One bad pick in Round 1 and you're scrambling through Round 2 to fix it.

When and Where It Actually Happens

The real 2026 NBA draft goes down Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Round 1 airs on ABC, ESPN, and the ESPN App on June 23. Round 2 drops on ESPN and the ESPN App on June 24.

You can start messing around with the simulator right now. Get your feet wet before the actual draft. See how you'd handle the lottery picks. Trade up, trade down, reach for your guy in the second round. Figure out if you've actually got the instincts to run an NBA franchise or if you'd tank it in five minutes.
