G2, Aurora, and magic Lock in PGL Astana Playoffs and Nobody Saw It Coming

The dust has settled at PGL Astana 2026, and three teams just punched their ticket to the playoffs with a sweep that caught everyone watching. G2, Aurora, and magic are moving on from the $800,000 tournament running May 7 through May 17, and the competition is officially on notice.

The Field Is Set

This is what happens when teams show up prepared. G2, Aurora, and magic combined to dominate their way into the next round, securing their spots in what's shaping up to be one of the hottest international tournaments of the year. The PGL Astana event isn't just another event either. With $800,000 on the line and the best teams from around the world converging on Astana, making the playoffs is a statement.

What This Means for the Rest of May

The esports calendar is absolutely stacked right now. You've got the Asian Champions League 2026 kicking off May 11-17 with $150,000 at stake, Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta 2026 running May 11-17 with $300,000 in prize money, and the CS Asia Championships 2026 coming May 19-24 with $400,000 up for grabs. It's the kind of window where teams either catch fire or start feeling the pressure. G2, Aurora, and magic are riding momentum heading into everything coming next.

The rest of the year is going to be insane too. Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major in June is offering $1,250,000 to the winner, and that's before we even get into July and beyond. But right now, everyone's eyes are on what happens next in these playoffs.

Next Up

G2, Aurora, and magic have made their statement. The question now is whether they can keep it rolling when the real pressure hits in the playoff rounds. These teams earned their spot, and they're going to be dangerous moving forward.
