Germany Dropped SEVEN Goals on Curaçao, and the World Cup Just Got REAL

Alright, Seattle, buckle up, because Day 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is already delivering some absolute shockers and thrillers! We’re only eight matches deep into this whole thing, but today alone, we've had four more games that are making everyone sit up and pay attention. If you thought this tournament was just warming up, think again, because the action is absolutely off the chain and getting intense faster than a Matty Beniers breakaway!

Germany's Statement Win and the Netherlands' Unexpected Scramble

First up on the pitch today, the four-time champions, Germany, didn't just play, they absolutely *demolished* debutants Curaçao in Houston with a staggering 7-1 win. Seriously, seven goals! That's not just a victory, that's a full-on statement, a declaration to the world that these titans are here to dominate. You gotta feel for Curaçao, making their World Cup debut and running into that buzzsaw. Talk about a rude welcome to the big leagues! But for Germany, it's pure, unadulterated power and precision, and it sets a terrifying precedent for anyone else in their path. Then, we got to see Netherlands and Japan go head-to-head, and let me tell you, that was one for the ages. It was a "highly entertaining" match that ended in a 2-2 draw. A draw! Against Japan! That's gotta sting a little for the Dutch, who surely went in expecting more. But credit where credit's due to Japan for fighting tooth and nail to hold them to a stalemate. Every point counts in these early stages, and that result means things are already getting spicy in their group.

Ivory Coast Grabs a Win, Sweden Edges Out Tunisia in a BATTLE

Later in the day, the Ivory Coast stepped onto the field in Philadelphia and did what they needed to do, securing a gritty 1-0 victory over Ecuador. Those single-goal games are always nail-biters, aren't they? Every pass, every tackle, every shot feels like it could be the one that changes everything. It's not always about the flashy scores, sometimes it's about grinding out those crucial points, and Ivory Coast did just that. Big points on the board early in the tournament for them. And to cap off the day's action, we had Sweden battling it out with Tunisia in Mexico. From what we're hearing, this wasn't just a game, it was a "fiery battle," with Sweden ultimately edging out Tunisia 2-1. You know those games where both teams are just leaving it all out there, every tackle is fierce, every challenge is met with equal intensity? That's what this sounds like. These are the kinds of matchups that remind you why you love the World Cup: pure, unadulterated passion and competition.

What's Next for the World Cup?
