GSL 4A/3A Stars Shine Bright on the Diamond

The GSL 4A/3A baseball season was a spectacle of high-caliber play, and Gonzaga Prep's Anthony Karis, a senior, was deservedly named the league's Most Valuable Player. His all-around impact on the field made him a nightmare for opposing teams. Complementing Karis's offensive and defensive prowess, fellow senior Bullpup Dylan Croall earned the prestigious Pitcher of the Year award, a testament to his commanding presence on the mound throughout the spring. It is a remarkable achievement for two players from the same school to sweep such significant awards in a highly competitive league like the GSL.

Not to be overshadowed, Mt. Spokane High School's senior slugger, Braeden Parker, was recognized as the 4A/3A Offensive MVP, demonstrating his formidable power at the plate. The coaching excellence award went to Kevin May of University High School, whose leadership guided his team through a challenging schedule. The GSL 4A/3A First Team is a roster of elite talent, featuring players like senior Caden Andreas from Ridgeline High School, Tyson Blake, a senior from Central Valley High School, and the talented Luca Longo, a junior from University High School. Mead's junior Max Brischle and Mt. Spokane's junior Jaxson Kelly also earned well-deserved spots on the Second Team, highlighting the depth of talent emerging from this competitive classification.

2A and Northeast Leagues Celebrate Their Best

Moving to the GSL 2A classification, West Valley High School's senior Ollie Spencer was celebrated as the Most Valuable Player, a clear indication of his pivotal role in his team's success. Pullman High School's head coach Kevin Agnew received Coach of the Year honors for his exemplary guidance. The GSL 2A First Team saw sophomores Brody Barnett from Pullman and Carson Gaumer from West Valley recognized for their pitching, alongside junior Will Denney, an infielder from Pullman, and senior Nick Elliott, an infielder from North Central High School.

Beyond the GSL, the Northeast A league witnessed a shared honor for its top players, with Lakeside High School's senior Cy Reeves and Colville High School's senior Jet Bateman both named Co-MVPs, a rare but fitting acknowledgment of their equally impactful seasons. Coach Tim Klein of Lakeside earned the league's coaching nod. In the Northeast 2B North, Northwest Christian's senior Caden Hollister was crowned MVP, with his coach Dan Ferguson sharing Coach of the Year honors with Chewelah's Connor Parker. These selections across all classifications underscore the immense dedication and skill fostered within Washington's prep baseball community, from the largest programs to the smaller, tight-knit teams.

The commitment and passion displayed by these student-athletes throughout the spring season have truly elevated the standard of high school baseball in Eastern Washington, and the future looks incredibly bright for these promising young stars as they continue their athletic journeys.
