Isala Aisa Wily-Ava Chose Washington Early and College Football Is NOT Ready For It

Alright Dawg Nation, settle in, because I have some absolute FIRE news for you! You guys, you are NOT going to believe this. Touted safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, a four-star stud from powerhouse St. John Bosco, just committed to the Washington Huskies. And get this: he shut down his recruitment before official visits even truly kicked off! This kid is Montlake-bound for the 2027 class, and believe me, it’s a massive win for the purple and gold! We’re talking about a player who was a long-time favorite, but for him to pull the trigger this early? That screams belief in what’s brewing here in the Emerald City.

This Four-Star Safety Is Built Different

Seriously, this isn't just any commitment. Wily-Ava is a physical defender at 6'2", 195 pounds, and many college scouts believe he can hit the field and make an impact "very quickly" at the collegiate level. He's been starting for St. John Bosco, one of the top high school programs not just in California, but the entire freakin' country, for two seasons! His stats? Insane! We're talking 115 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and one sack. But here's the part that's gonna make you jump out of your seats: eight interceptions! EIGHT! Seven of those came in his sophomore year in 2024, setting a program record. This guy has a nose for the ball, and he's bringing that ball-hawking swagger to Washington!

Shutting Down Recruitment, Shutting Down Rivals

This commitment isn't just about Wily-Ava's talent, it's about the Huskies' pulling power. This dude chose Washington over his other favorite, Arizona State. But that’s just the start. Check out the list of schools that offered him: BYU, Cal, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, and Notre Dame. Like, hello?! That's a who's who of college football royalty, and he told them all, "Thanks, but no thanks, I'm going to Montlake." To snag a four-star safety with that kind of resume, from that many top-tier programs, and before he even took all his official visits? That tells you everything you need to know about the strength of this program's recruiting game. This commitment is already the 14th pledge for the Huskies' strong 2027 class, and we haven't even really started the official visit season yet! Those visits kick off on May 29th, and you better believe the coaches are going to keep this momentum rolling with several more commitments expected by the end of June. Get ready, Dawg Nation, because the future is looking incredibly bright for the purple and gold!
