Israel Adesanya Is Rooting For His Arch-Rival, And That's How You Know UFC History Is About To Drop!

Yo, Emerald City! We all live and breathe Mariners baseball and Seahawks football, right? Our hearts beat green and blue. But sometimes, even us die-hard Seattle fans gotta tip our hats to greatness in *other* arenas. And listen up, because what went down in the UFC world is absolutely wild. Get this: Israel Adesanya, the former champ, is out here openly backing his arch-rival Alex Pereira to make history and snag a *third* UFC title! He’s calling it like seeing the first person climb Everest. Seriously, when a legend like Adesanya throws that kind of respect and comparison around, you know something massive is about to happen.

The "Everest" Climb for Pereira

This isn't just some casual support, folks. We're talking about a potential three-division title feat for Alex Pereira. The man is gearing up to face Ciryl Gane at UFC White House on June 14. Can you even imagine? Going for a third title in different divisions? That's the kind of stuff you tell your grandkids about. Adesanya, who knows a thing or two about being at the top of the fight game, sees the magnitude of this moment. It’s a testament to Pereira’s skill and drive, and for a rival to acknowledge it so profoundly? That's what makes this whole situation so electric.

Beyond the Main Event: A Weekend of Fights

But hey, the combat sports world doesn't stop for one epic showdown. While we're looking ahead to Pereira potentially making history, there's been plenty of other action. Just on June 12, Wilkens Mathieu delivered a TKO in round 8 against Esquiva Falcao. That’s a dominant win, a real statement! And looking forward to June 13, Jesse Rodriguez, sitting pretty at 23-0, is stepping into the ring against Antonio Vargas, who's got a strong 22-1-1 record. That’s a clash of titans right there, almost guaranteed fireworks. Plus, we've got Oshae Jones vs. Elia Carranza and even Misfits Boxing events this weekend. It’s a full slate for fight fans. So, while we're waiting for Cal Raleigh to mash another homer at T-Mobile Park or Sam Darnold to sling passes at Lumen Field, keep an eye on what Alex Pereira does on June 14. If he pulls this off, that "Everest" comparison won't just be hype, it'll be pure fact. You just know the entire fight world will be buzzing, and even here in the 206, we gotta appreciate history in the making. Let’s see if he can make it happen!
