Kenneth Walker III's Wild Practice Energy Has Chiefs On Fire, And Seattle Fans Know EXACTLY What's Coming Next

Okay, Emerald City, listen up! While we're all out here screaming "Go Hawks" for *our* squad, there's an ex-Seahawk making absolute waves back East, and frankly, it's exactly what you'd expect. Kenneth Walker III, yeah, *that* K9, just landed in Kansas City as their biggest free agency grab, signing a whopping three-year, $43.05 million deal with $28.7 million fully guaranteed. But it's not just the money; the man is already showing why he was worth every penny, and Patrick Mahomes is practically doing backflips over it. Seattle fans, you know what that kind of intensity means for an offense.

K9's Unhinged Energy Is Changing Everything For KC

You remember that absolute motor Kenneth Walker III has, right? Well, he's brought that same dialed-in, full-throttle passion to Kansas City, and it's got everyone buzzing. During a recent practice, K9 was everywhere. He was at the front of the line for individual running back drills, demanding every single handoff from Mahomes like it was a Super Bowl snap. But here's the wild part: when the offensive linemen went through their pass-blocking drills, Walker didn't just watch. He hopped right in, got into a stance, and helped them out! Veteran right guard Trey Smith roared in appreciation, and the whole O-line cheered. Can you believe that? A running back jumping into pass-blocking drills! Later, between periods, he joined receivers like Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton to run routes in the red zone. This dude doesn't stop. He was glued to Mahomes, soaking up every detail of the Chiefs' offense, diving deep into pre-snap audibles and the thinking behind each one. Mahomes himself had to give it up, saying, "You can tell he truly cares about football, he cares about his teammates. If he's not in the play, he's helping the guys on the sideline and he's trying to learn and [is] asking me questions." That's the K9 we know, folks, a true football junkie.

The Chiefs Are Betting $43 Million On Walker To End Their Drought

Let's be real, the Chiefs are coming off a tough one. They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014, and after a Mahomes era that brought them three championships, five Super Bowl appearances, and two league MVPs, that just won't fly. Mahomes is even coming off a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee, suffered back in December. This is where Kenneth Walker III comes in. The Chiefs need him to be the traditional run threat they've mostly lacked since Mahomes became the starter in 2018. They want him to carry the offense when needed, to become their first 1,000-yard rusher since 2017! They're straight-up hoping Walker's impact is like Saquon Barkley joining the Eagles in 2024 and helping them to a Super Bowl title in his first season. That's a huge ask, but that's what $43.05 million is for. He's got to prove his standout 2025 season wasn't a fluke. He's gotta stay healthy, and he's gotta be the feature back he's rarely been consistently in his NFL career. The pressure is on, K9, but if anyone can handle it, it's the guy Seattle watched grind every single Sunday. So, can Kenneth Walker III be the missing piece the Chiefs need to get back to being Super Bowl contenders? He’s certainly doing everything right to start, soaking in the playbook and showing that relentless drive we all saw here in the Emerald City. Now, we wait to see if he can deliver on the field when it really counts.
