Kraken Secure Picks No. 7 and No. 25, and the Emerald City's Future Is About To Explode!

Alright 12s, you ready for some HUGE news straight out of the NHL? The first 27 picks of the 2026 NHL Draft order are LOCKED IN, and guess who is looking like geniuses right now? Our Seattle Kraken are walking away with TWO first-round picks! Yeah, you heard that right. Two chances to build the future of hockey in the Emerald City! The first 16 selections were set by the NHL Draft Lottery on May 5, with the Toronto Maple Leafs nabbing the coveted No. 1 spot. The teams that got knocked out in the first two rounds of the playoffs fill out picks 17-27. This is massive for us, Seattle, absolute game-changer stuff!

Double the Fun for the Deep Blue!

This is not a drill, Kraken faithful! Our boys in green and blue are officially on the clock at pick No. 7, and then again at No. 25! That No. 25 pick, remember that? That's what we got from the Tampa Bay Lightning back in March 2025, from that trade for Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde. Talk about a future investment paying off! We have the chance to bring some serious, fresh talent to Climate Pledge Arena. Imagine the rookies hitting the ice, rocking the deep blue, ready to make a name for themselves. This is exactly what we need to keep pushing this squad forward. While the Leafs got the top pick, we are sitting pretty with two awesome shots at building something truly special for years to come.

The League Is Already Buzzing

It's not just our Kraken who are loading up. Six teams in total have two first-round selections, showing that our front office isn't just following trends, they're setting them! San Jose has No. 2 and No. 20. Vancouver has No. 3 and No. 24. The New York Rangers are looking strong with No. 5 and No. 26. St. Louis has a whopping three first-rounders, at No. 11, No. 15, and a pick from the Avalanche they got from the Islanders, who initially acquired it from Colorado in the Brock Nelson deal. Speaking of trades, Vegas's pick went to Calgary from the Noah Hanifin deal. This draft is going to be wild! The other picks, from No. 28 to No. 31, will be sorted out by the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Final. The Ottawa Senators even got pick No. 32 as a modified penalty from a 2021 trade. Meanwhile, the Western Conference Final kicks off with Vegas playing Colorado on Wednesday, 8 p.m. ET, and the Eastern Conference Final sees Montreal battling Carolina on Thursday, 8 p.m. ET.
