Lane Kiffin's Five-Star Haul Has LSU Looking Loaded, and the Rest of the SEC Better Be Watching

Lane Kiffin is not messing around in Baton Rouge. His first full roster build at LSU is stacked with five-star talent, and two names are already turning heads: Trey'Dez Green and Jordan Ross are leading what looks like a serious 2026 talent surge that has the Tigers pointed in a very different direction than last year's mess.

Let's be real. LSU finished 7-6 last season after preseason top-10 hype. That stings. But Kiffin walked in and immediately started loading the roster with elite recruits, transfer additions, and a class that screams long-term stability. The question now is how fast this talented group can actually produce on the field.

The Tight End and the Pass Rusher Leading the Charge

Trey'Dez Green is the headliner. The 6-7 tight end came in as a five-star in the 2024 class and absolutely emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous weapons in 2025. He is starting to draw first-round NFL attention for 2027, and he is primed for an All-SEC year. That is not hype. That is what happens when a generational tight end prospect finally gets reps at the FBS level.

Jordan Ross transferred in from Tennessee and brings serious pass-rush ability to the defensive front. The combination of Green and Ross represents exactly what Kiffin wants: proven production mixed with elite potential.

Five Stars All Over the Field

The defensive line is anchored by Lamar Brown, the top recruit leading the unit. DJ Pickett, who played his freshman year last year, is developing into a key cornerback. On the offensive line, Jordan Seaton looks like a future top NFL pick at left tackle and immediately boosts the protection scheme.

Quarterback Husan Longstreet arrived from USC with major arm talent, while running back Harlem Berry brings explosive playmaking from New Orleans. Together, this five-star group signals Kiffin's aggressive push to rebuild LSU into a contender.

Week 1 GameDay Spotlight Already Here

LSU opens under the national spotlight. ESPN College GameDay heads to Baton Rouge for Week 1 against Clemson at Tiger Stadium, a rematch that follows last year's 17-10 LSU win. Both teams finished 7-6 and now look to reset expectations under new pressure in 2026. Week 3 brings the storyline everyone will be watching: Lane Kiffin facing his former program, Ole Miss, with LSU potentially featured in multiple early-season showcases.

This roster is built to win now. Watch how Kiffin's reload plays out starting Week 1.
