Lane Kiffin's Five-Star Rebuild Just Got Real: Trey'Dez Green and Jordan Ross Are About to Make LSU Dangerous

Lane Kiffin walked into Baton Rouge and didn't waste any time. His first full roster build at LSU is loaded with five-star talent, and the Tigers are about to find out if all that star power can actually translate on the field. The 2026 season is shaping up to be a statement year for Kiffin's aggressive rebuild, and the talent ceiling is legitimately scary.

The Five-Star Core That's Drawing NFL Eyes Already

Trey'Dez Green is the headliner here. The 6-foot-7 tight end signed as a five-star back in 2024 and absolutely emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous weapons in 2025. He's not just getting buzz anymore, either. NFL scouts are already talking about him as a first-round prospect for 2027. This guy is primed for an All-SEC season and he's only going to make LSU's offense more lethal.

Then there's Jordan Ross, the defensive end who transferred in from Tennessee. Ross brings serious pass-rush ability to a defense that needs to prove it can keep pace in the league. Between Green and Ross, Kiffin has put together a blueprint: reload with proven talent that can compete immediately.

A Loaded Room Ready to Deliver

It's not just Green and Ross carrying the load. Lamar Brown leads the defensive line as the top recruit. DJ Pickett is developing into a key cornerback after his freshman season last year. Jordan Seaton is on the offensive line and looks like a future top NFL pick at left tackle. Quarterback Husan Longstreet arrived from USC with major arm talent, and running back Harlem Berry brings explosive playmaking from New Orleans.

That's a lot of star power in one room. The question everyone in Baton Rouge is asking right now is simple: how fast can this talented group start producing on the field?

The National Spotlight Arrives Immediately

Kiffin's debut as LSU's head coach is opening under intense pressure. ESPN College GameDay is heading to Tiger Stadium for the Week 1 matchup against Clemson. This is a rematch after LSU's 17-10 win over Clemson last year, when both teams finished 7-6 after preseason top-10 hype. Now both programs are trying to reset expectations under new pressure in 2026.

Week 3 brings the big one: LSU versus Ole Miss, with Kiffin facing his former program. The early-season showcase games are already stacking up, and the national spotlight is locked in on Baton Rouge. This roster has the pieces. Now it's time to prove it matters.
